A year-long course that is open only to seniors who’ve done excellent work in the English major, this seminar represents the “capstone” or culmination of the major. Its model is the graduate seminar, which puts mature students in conversation about a matter of critical importance to the field of literary study, so they can deepen their engagement with an intellectual community within and beyond the university.

That community becomes manifest here in the seminar room and on the blog, where it supports the independent work that honors students do toward the thesis and the exam.
